Five Diagnostic Dimensions

What must be tested before scale becomes credible.

Demand depth

Whether repeat demand extends beyond novelty, diaspora concentration, or one exceptional trade area.

Operating scalability

Whether quality, labor, speed, service, and economics can be reproduced without founder-level intervention.

Infrastructure readiness

Whether supply chains, real estate, technology, training, governance, and management can support a much larger network.

Unit economics

Whether store-level returns remain attractive after realistic labor, occupancy, supply, and market-entry costs.

Decision power

Whether the brand owns enough customer relationship, data, and demand generation to expand without excessive platform dependence.

Use & Limits

How the framework is used.

GII uses the framework to identify where a concept may fail between approximately 10 and 100 stores and what institutional capabilities are required beyond that point. It is a diagnostic tool, not a guarantee that a brand will reach any particular store count.
